LINDSEY SURIN ART

DRAWING AND PAINTING

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Lindsey Surin received her Bachelor’s of Art in Studio Art at Saint Xavier University in Chicago, IL. She has devoted over sixteen years of her life to studying and refining her artistic abilities. Lindsey’s chosen medium is fine pencil and she specializes in human figure drawings, but also enjoys photography.

Lindsey’s teaching background involves assisting a professor with a college level photography class. Lindsey’s artistic experience is deeply enriched with skills in painting, colored pencil, photography, graphic design, ceramics, and three dimensional design. Her choices of media reflect her desire to accurately capture a moment in time for her viewers.

Lindsey’s senior thesis work is an expression of love for her sister, a longtime dancer. With graphite perfectly encompassing the beauty of light and shadow, it Lindsey’s preferred medium to showcase the form and graceful movement of a figure in space. Lindsey admires her sister in so many ways. By drawing her, Lindsey translates the way she loves her sister—through her hands and her heart to tangible pieces for the world to see.

Lindsey's work can be found on the cover of the novel, “Women on the Brink,” by G. Elizabeth Kretchmer.
